We see sustainability as being good for people, the planet and business. As a guiding principle for all our projects, Sumac aims to be a world-class leader in providing sustainable building construction and consulting services that are excellent, desirable, competitive and of good value. Our design and construction standards have always centered on efficiency and will continue to evolve as the technology for designing, engineering, and constructing buildings improves.

Although so far sustainability has been associated with sacrifice or compromise and giving up the choices we currently enjoy, Sumac's vision is the opposite of this. We believe that building and working sustainably doesn't have to mean cutting back or frugality, and responsibility shouldn't be dull or difficult. Sustainability can be profitable, enjoyable and part of everything we do. Our vision for sustainability within Sumac is: "to make a credible contribution towards sustainability in our business whilst meeting or exceeding the expectations of our staff, customers and all parties involved".
